RH Excellence supports the fight against breast cancer

The pink ribbon, which later became the emblem of the fight against breast cancer, just as the red ribbon is for the fight against AIDS, was born in the United States in the 1990s by Evelyn Lauder (vice-president of the cosmetics brand Estée Lauder).

In 1994, the Estée Lauder Group and Marie Claire magazine launched the first breast cancer awareness campaign in France. The association "Le Cancer du sein, parlons-en !" (Let's talk about breast cancer) was created and is now known as "Ruban Rose".

This first awareness campaign created a whole ecosystem around this cause : Pink October, events, the illumination in pink of some emblematic buildings, races, the gathering of many partners, ...

The objective of all this is to mobilize women and their entourage through dialogue and information in order to make them aware of this cause. Because until a few years ago, talking about this disease was a taboo subject.

In 2015, RH Excellence joined the National Cancer Institute's wigmakers' charter. Elise, founder of RH Excellence, tells us : "Each of us has a role to play on this earth and mine is to bring comfort and to give back the smile".

We know how important a wig can be in building self-confidence during illness. For Elise, this was the case : "Wearing a wig allowed me to hide the disease. At the same time, thanks to this wig, I was able to regain a part of my femininity that I had lost because of the treatments (loss of my hair, my eyelashes and my eyebrows). This hair prosthesis allowed me to regain my self-confidence.
